1990

JM Interior Works Established

​

Mr Jamaludin Bin Masood began his journey in carpentry in the late 1970s, during a time when a contractor’s reputation was built entirely through workmanship, trust and word-of-mouth referrals.

​

While working full-time as a technician, he continued taking on carpentry and renovation projects during evenings and weekends. Former clients regularly returned, referrals increased and the small side operation gradually developed into an established family business.

​

In December 1990, he officially registered JM Interior Works (1990). The business remained modest, but it was built on principles that continue to guide the company today: complete the work properly, honour every commitment and maintain lasting relationships with clients.

​

As his children grew older, they began supporting him with site works and small renovation projects, gaining hands-on experience in the trade from an early age.

2018

The Second Generation

​

In 2018, Mr Jamaludin’s sons formally joined the business and incorporated JM & Sons General Contractor Pte. Ltd., continuing the foundation their father had built nearly three decades earlier.

​

The company evolved from a small family operation into a structured construction business with dedicated sales, project coordination, operations and site teams.

​

During its early years, JM & Sons carried out subcontracting works for offices, restaurants, F&B outlets and other commercial properties. These projects gave the team extensive experience working with consultants, interior designers, main contractors, building management teams and specialist trades.

​

As the company expanded, it invested in its own workforce, vehicles, machinery, operational systems and carpentry facilities. This allowed more construction works to be managed internally, providing greater control over workmanship, scheduling and project coordination.

​

JM & Sons subsequently progressed from being primarily a subcontractor to operating as a direct main contractor, taking greater responsibility for the complete delivery of each project.

Today

An Established Commercial Contractor

​

Today, JM & Sons provides commercial interior fit-out, space planning, project management, reinstatement, procurement and construction services across Singapore.

​

We work on offices, retail outlets, F&B establishments, industrial units and other commercial properties, supporting clients from the initial site assessment through construction and final handover.

​

Our operations are supported by:

• Experienced in-house construction teams

• A local carpentry facility of approximately 10,000sqft

• In-house drafter and designers 

• Dedicated project and site coordination personnel

• BCA registration and BizSafe Level 3 certification

• Flexible after-hours and overnight work arrangements

• Established operational and project-management systems

Although the company has grown, the principles established by our founder remain unchanged. We continue to approach every project with transparency, accountability and respect for the client’s business requirements, budget and timeline.
